Carved plaster statuette of girl cutting cloth, finished with old gold. In her 29 November 1910 letter accompanying the sending to Ye Arts & Crafts Shop in Honolulu, Hawaii of an assortment of 35 pieces of her seventeen “best studies,” Elizabeth does mention “that on some I have given a touch of old gold,” adding, “it makes them more attractive to the general public.” While this piece is not mentioned in that letter, the “old gold” finish on this piece likely is the same as on those pieces listed with that letter.
