Carved plaster sculpture of a woman sewing. Elizabeth inscribed into the bottom back of this piece “Elizabeth Ferrea 1909,” with the “190” appearing clearly and the last “9” being difficult to discern. The absence of the surname “Ehat” clearly indicates the piece pre-dates her 1914 marriage and the very readable “0” after the “19” seems clearly to place the piece in the first decade of the century. The hairstyle, body build, and facial features depicted in this piece allow the possibility that this sculpture depicts Elizabeth’s mother, Virginia Risso Ferrea (1854‒1935).
